Business Support Officer

Skills.

In partnership with our clients, DIGI2AL solves complex government, societal, and environmental challenges using people and technology to drive meaningful change—helping people learn, work, and live better.

We are seeking someone to support the Account Manager in delivering to a significant South Coast client, working closely with both team members and clients. Key responsibilities include:

Recruitment Support. Act as a point of contact for recruitment, working with the operations team to create job descriptions, coordinate interviews and gather feedback.

Onboarding & Offboarding. Support onboarding and offboarding with both the DIGI2AL and client business support teams.

Contract & Client Management. Assist with contract renewals. Including capturing data and building reports to support contract management. 

Operational & Team Support. 

  • Help deliver social value activities.
  • Proactively communicate with team members.
  • Handle day-to-day queries and questions from the team.
  • Maintain data on days worked, timesheets, revenue tracking, and utilisation.
  • Operate transparently within the team, understanding priorities, raising issues, and collaborating to deliver results.

Experience.

We are looking for someone who loves to work as part of a tight knit team. The right person will bring bags of energy and drive to the team, working collaboratively to deliver business objectives. 

We would expect the right individual to enjoy wrangling processes and have a strong desire to implement improvements to optimise systems.

Must haves

  • Good organisational skills. Experience coordinating, planning and scheduling others using a variety of software.
  • Good Communicator. Comfortable communicating across all levels from the apprentices to the company Chair. Speaks openly, honestly and with clarity.
  • Learning mindset. No one knows everything, but someone with a learning mindset can develop new skills. In our business the ability to take on new challenges is a key skill and fundamental in business support. As our business evolves we will also need to.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work iteratively and with flexibility.

Nice to haves 

  • Experience of process improvement. We are always working to make our processes leaner by simplifying or automating. We are looking for someone experienced in understanding processes, identifying opportunities for improvements, planning and implementing changes.  
  • Understanding of confidentiality. Handling information appropriately is important. Any experience of GDPR and controls would be of value.

  • Ability to work under own initiative: this role is varied and works across all aspects of the business so the ability to see what needs doing and getting it done without always being tasked with work is an absolute must
  • Learning mindset: There is a lot to learn if you haven’t previously worked in this environment before. You will be well supported by an amazing team who truly understand that not everyone knows everything. However, the willingness to learn and the enthusiasm to try is essential
  • Great team player: This role sits within a small team covering all aspects of business support and operations. It’s a fast paced role with lots going on and lots to juggle. The ability/willingness to muck in and help out others is essential.

  • We are looking for someone to work 3 days a week on a 12 month contract 
  • There is a requirement to be onsite in Portsmouth 2-3 days a week
  • Ideally we need someone with an active security clearance who can start immediately. If you don't have a security clearance you must be willing to go through SC 
  • The role is inside IR35 with a rate of £200-£250 depending on experience
